A venture-backed financial technology firm providing core institutional market access is expanding its trading operations team. Building modern, high-concurrency API infrastructure that powers global trading applications across equities, options, digital assets, and fixed income, the organization is establishing this seat to drive institutional client success and platform reliability.
This is a high-velocity mandate for an operational market specialist. Positioned at the intersection of client relationship management, trade surveillance, and technical execution, you will serve as a primary operational anchor for institutional clients, managing complex order flows, monitoring platform integrity, and ensuring seamless trade settlement.
Key Execution Focus
- Institutional Operational Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for institutional partners, resolving complex issues across electronic order routing, execution breaks, order management systems (OMS), and FIX connection sessions.
- Trade Surveillance & Market Operations: Proactively monitor active order flow and execution quality (including best execution standards) to identify operational anomalies, manage desk risk, and ensure market integrity.
- Asset Lifecycle & Event Administration: Coordinate downstream trade administration and corporate action processing—including dividends, stock splits, mergers, and restructurings—to ensure clean portfolio handling.
- Cross-Functional Infrastructure Support: Partner with internal execution desks, engineering teams, and compliance officers to isolate technical friction points and relay key client feedback to product leadership.
- Risk & Regulatory Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to internal operational controls and market regulatory frameworks across all trade processing and client interactions.
- Operational Groundwork: 2 to 3+ years of experience in brokerage operations, equity trading desks, or financial services trade support, backed by a degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Technical & Industry Fluency: Solid understanding of equity market mechanics, order handling workflows, and FIX protocol messaging. FINRA Series 7 and 63 licensing is required (or a commitment to pass licensing exams within the first six months).
- Shift Flexibility: Comfortable working dedicated coverage hours aligned with core operational cycles (late morning through early evening Eastern Time).
