Job summary

Wellington Management Company, LLP in Boston is seeking a Bond Forward Trade Specialist Co-op to join the Trade Operations group within Investment Operations. You will help confirm and instruct cash or security movements related to bond forward trading and support related tasks.

The role offers exposure to trading and settlement practices in global markets, interaction with traders and sales assistants, and experience with industry tools like ALERT.

THE POSITION The Bond Forward Trade Specialist Co‑op will be a member of Trade Operations within Investment Operations. Trade Operations is responsible for supporting the firm's domestic and international post‑execution trade activities. The primary responsibility of the Bond Forward Trade Specialist Co‑op is confirming and instructing cash or security movements corresponding to bond forward trade activity. In addition, the student may be asked to work on other ad hoc tasks and projects for the group. The student will gain valuable expertise in trading and settlement practices associated with today's global financial markets. The undergraduate will develop communication skills through interaction with traders and sales assistants, as well as proficiencies in industry applications such as ALERT. The competencies acquired while working in Trade Operations are highly desirable in a competitive job market.

Responsibilities
  • Work with traders, salespeople, and back office personnel at Wellington, broker‑dealers, and custodian banks to ensure timely and accurate cash payments and trade settlements related to Bond Forward trading activity
  • Help with the weekly review of physical mail
  • Assist with the research and resolution of TBA pairoff activity
  • Ad hoc project work
  • Be available to train the incoming co‑op at the end of your co‑op cycle

Start Date & Eligibility

The anticipated start date for accepted candidates is December 2026/January 2027. Only Northeastern University students are eligible for this program.

Compensation & Benefits

At Wellington Management, our approach to compensation is designed to help us attract, inspire and retain the best talent in our industry. The base salary range for this position is: $19-$35 per hour. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.

Base salary is only one component of Wellington's total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
