Job summary

Corewell Health in Grand Rapids is seeking a facilities trades helper to support building management and construction projects, including carpentry, flooring, painting, and drywall. Under supervision, you’ll perform hands-on maintenance and participate in project prep and site setup.

Most work is team-based; occasional evenings and weekends may be required. A high school diploma and valid MI driver's license are required, with at least one year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and collaborates with supervisors and tradespeople to ensure quality and timely construction.
• Performs basic preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and services on building features.
• Measures, cuts, and installs items with hand and power tools.
• Documents procedures and work completed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Reviews project blueprints, develops estimates, places orders, and prepares sites for construction, installation, replacement or repair.
• Ensures care, maintenance and safe use of equipment and supplies; keeps areas orderly and safe.

Job Summary

Provides a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment through refreshing different spaces throughout the healthcare system under the direction of a supervisor. Under the guidance of a tradesperson lead in a specific area of specialty, participates in the overall building management program to provide high-quality, cost-effective service with a high emphasis on customer satisfaction and quality. Involved with facilities construction for both new build projects and refresh efforts including carpentry, flooring installation, painting, drywall repair, etc. Most work is performed as a team but there may be independent work as well. The average work week will consist of Monday – Friday, however qualified candidates will have to be open to occasional evenings and weekend work.

Essential Functions

Communicates and collaborates with the supervisors, tradesperson leads, and other construction trades and sub-contractors to ensure quality, timely, cost effective construction with continuity and coordination of services. Under the guidance of a tradesperson lead in a specific area of specialty, performs basic preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and services on various types of general building features. Measures, cuts, and installs multidiscipline related items using hand and power tools. Documents procedures and work completed in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in reviewing project blueprints, developing estimates, placing orders and preparing site for construction, installation, replacement and/or repair. Ensures proper care, maintenance and safe use of equipment and supplies and keep work areas orderly, clean and safe.

Qualifications Required

High School Diploma or equivalent 1 year of relevant experience LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan
