The Facilities Renovations Department is seeking a Trades Helper to join the already awesome team taking the Renovations Department to the next level of excellence!

Here Is What You Will Do

The ideal candidate will perform semi-skilled tasks in various trades. Specific duties will vary depending on the trade area assigned. In addition to supporting the department, the Trades Helper will also:

• Clean work areas, sweep, collect trash, assist in demolition activities, and move supplies and equipment.
• Perform various routine repairs and maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Assist and participate in sanding sheetrock.
• Pull electric cables.
• Assist in checking and testing meters, relays, heating, and air‑conditioning equipment.
• Clean work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Change light bulbs and perform related work as needed.
• Transport tools and equipment to and from the storage and work areas.
• Operate simple power tools, such as belt sanders, and electric drills.
• Operate vehicles to pick up and deliver supplies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED and six months of experience assisting carpenters, electricians, or other skilled trades employees.
• A valid Georgia driver's license is required.

Preferred Hiring Requirements

• Knowledge of tools, methods, and practices of building trades.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards of building trades and safety precautions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and strenuous manual tasks.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $35,600 - $42,700. Salary offers will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications in relation to the Minimum Hiring Standards. Candidates earlier in their careers are typically offered salaries closer to the minimum of the hiring range, while those with more advanced or relevant experience may be considered for compensation at or above the hiring range.
