Job summary

Tresco Inc. is seeking a Trades Helper to join our skilled maintenance team. This full-time role offers hands-on experience working with experienced trades professionals in our HELSTF facility.

You will assist with a variety of maintenance projects, including painting, carpentry, flooring, and basic electrical and plumbing tasks, while following safety protocols and contributing to a collaborative work environment. Minimum two years in a skilled trade and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a skilled trade such as automotive, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, painting.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• Ability to obtain a Government Operator's License.
• Ability to read blueprints and freehand sketches.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist skilled maintenance personnel with a variety of maintenance and repair projects throughout the facility.
• Assist with painting structures and equipment.
• Support concrete repairs, including floors, steps, and sidewalks.
• Help with general carpentry projects.
• Replace damaged floor tiles, ceiling tiles, and wall paneling.
• Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings using plaster or compound.
• Assist with equipment and machinery maintenance.
• Help install sheetrock, including taping and texturing.
• Scrub and wax floors.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed.
• Assist with installing PVC, copper, and black pipe.
• Perform general housekeeping and facility maintenance duties.

Starting Wage: $17.99/hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday 7:00 AM- 4:30 PM & Every Other Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

What We're Looking For
