Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Trades Generalist to perform journey-level work in one trade and skilled/semi-skilled work in a combination of other trades for the repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment. The role involves mechanical, building, motor equipment and electrical trades.
The position requires four years of full-time trade experience (apprenticeship may substitute) and may prefer a valid NYS driver’s license and healthcare-hospital experience.
Our Trades Generalist perform journey-level work in one trade, and skilled and semiskilled level work in a combination of other trades in the repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment. They preform a variety of skilled and semiskilled maintenance, repair, installation and construction tasks in the mechanical, building, motor equipment and electrical trades.
Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled journey-level position which would provide training equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship program. Apprentice training in a trade or training gained by the completion of technical courses in a trade at a school or institute may be substituted for the above experience on a year-for-year basis.
Possession of a valid and current NYS driver's license. Hospital/Healthcare setting experience.
This position will remain posted until filled or for a maximum of 90 days. An initial review of all applicants will occur two weeks from the posting date. The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $50,425 /year.
The above salary range represents SBUH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate’s validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.
