Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor 1 to supervise and coordinate maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, and construction activities. The role involves planning work for a crew of skilled and semi-skilled workers and ensuring projects stay on schedule.
Candidates should have carpentry knowledge, ability to read blueprints, and experience supervising others; pre-employment screenings and NY license requirements apply.
Position Summary
At Stony Brook Medicine, our Maintenance Supervisors 1 are responsible for supervising, coordinating, and directing the activities of skilled, semiskilled, and unskilled trades positions engaged in maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, and construction activities.
Must meet qualifications of Trades Specialist (Carpenter) plus one year of trades experience.
Trades Specialist requirements are: Four years of full-time experience in carpentry under a skilled tradesperson; which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program, OR an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in carpenter at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services; OR successful completion of the two-year Trades Specialist (Cabinet Shop/Carpenter) traineeship or a two-year carpenter training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program* such as the New York State Civil Service Employees Association-Partnership Applied Skilled Trades Traineeship and Certificate Program.
Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $56,506 / year.
