• Service, troubleshoot and repair control boards and circuits including relays and limit switches.
• Perform electrical maintenance and repair on movable and stationary bridges, tunnels, underpasses and lights, including generators and pumps.
• Troubleshoot, service and install reversing starts and volt relays on single and three phase systems.

JOB DUTIES

• INSTALL, MAINTAIN AND REPAIR SINGLE AND THREE PHASE ELECTRICAL SERVICES INCLUDING STEP-DOWN TRANSFORMERS, SERVICE PANELS AND SERVICE CONNECTIONS.
• TROUBLESHOOT, INSTALL AND REPAIR ELECTRIC MOTORS AND RELATED MOTORS, STARTERS, RELAYS AND CIRCUIT BREAKERS AND CONTROLS ON ALL OF THE DISTRICT’S FACILITIES INCLUDING ALL OF THE BRIDGE SPAN DRIVE MOTORS, BRIDGE SPAN LOCKS AND BREAK MOTORS, HYDRAULIC AND WATER PUMP MOTORS, TRAFFIC GATE MOTORS AND SELSYN SENDING AND RECEIVING UNITS.
• SERVICE, TROUBLESHOOT AND REPAIR CONTROL BOARDS AND CONTROL CIRCUITS INCLUDING ELECTRICAL SPEED CONTROL, RELAYS INCLUDING PHASE FAILURE RELAYS, LIMIT SWITCHES AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENT BYPASS CIRCUITS.
• PERFORM ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR TO ALL SYSTEMS ON THE DISTRICT’S MOVABLE AND STATIONARY BRIDGES AS WELL AS THE DISTRICT’S TUNNELS, UNDERPASSES, NAVIGATION LOCKS, INCLUDING SERVICE AND REPAIR TO GENERATORS, TRANSFORMERS, ELECTRICAL SERVICE PUMPS AND ROADWAY, NAVIGATION AND HOUSE LIGHTING.
• TROUBLESHOOT, SERVICE AND INSTALL REVERSING STARTS, UNDER VOLTAGE RELAYS AND MULTI-BREAKERS, BOTH SINGLE AND THREE PHASE.

Appointment Type: Probational or promotional

Compensation:

• Trades Apprentice $16.06 hourly
• Electrician $19.67 hourly
• Electrician Specialist $21.05

Career Progression: As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Trades Apprentice, Electrician, or Electrician Specialist depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). The maximum monthly salary for the Electrician Specialist is $6,566.00.
