Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in trading, trading analysis, power and natural gas settlements, finance, transmission planning, engineering or power dispatching.
• Experience may substitute education at two years of experience for one year of education.
• Veteran's Preference: Submit DD form 214 or evidence of veterans' status by deadline.
• A negative drug test is required.

Job description

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, forecasts and meets hourly district real-time electric power requirements; monitors power load conditions, conducts hourly analysis, develops trading strategies and determines the most economical power source alternatives; plans and schedules resources to meet demand load forecast; negotiates sale, purchases and interchanges of electricity and gas with other utilities, energy marketers, energy brokers and the California Independent System Operator (CAISO). Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, business, accounting, economics, or related degree and t hree years of experience in either trading, trading analysis, power and natural gas settlements, finance, transmission planning, engineering, power dispatching or other technical field. Progressively responsible directly related experience may be substituted for the required education at the ratio of two years of experience for one year of education required power trading, trading analysis, power and natural gas settlements, finance, transmission planning, engineering or power dispatching experience.
