Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP is seeking a Trademark Paralegal Assistant to support our Trademark, Copyright, Internet & Advertising team. You will assist with U.S. and foreign trademark matters, including searches, prosecution, and due diligence, while upholding confidentiality and professional standards.

The role emphasizes accurate record-keeping, timely communication with attorneys and clients, and a collaborative, detail-oriented approach. Prior exposure to TTAB matters is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work under pressure.
• Exposure to trademark prosecution or TTAB is a plus but not required.

Job Description

At Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP, our people are our greatest asset. We’re looking for a collaborative, detail-oriented Trademark Paralegal Assistant to join our Trademark, Copyright, Internet & Advertising team and help deliver an exceptional employee experience.

In this role, you will support attorneys in the clearance and prosecution of U.S. and foreign trademark and copyright matters, including searches, enforcement, and due diligence. As a member of the firm’s professional support staff team, you will also help promote and maintain the goodwill and reputation of the firm while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

What You’ll Do

• Update and maintain electronic records.
• Draft reporting correspondence under supervision.
• Develop knowledge of USPTO rules and procedures as they relate to trademark prosecution.
• Assist with the preparation of U.S. trademark prosecution documents for attorney review and comment.
• Participate in training in U.S. and international trademark and copyright issues.
• Maintain accurate and timely daily time entries in accordance with the firm’s time-entry protocols, policies, and best practices.
• Communicate proactive with attorneys, clients, and team members regarding assignments, deadlines, and status updates.

What You’ll Bring

• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, work and communicate effectively under pressure, and remain flexible in assisting the team with accelerated client schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to trademark and copyright prosecution or trademark litigation and proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) is preferred but not required.

This position may be filled in the following locations. The listed compensation range reflects the typical pay for this role, though it is rare for new hires to receive an offer at the top of the range. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity.

Seattle compensation range: $44,460 - $62,670 annually

Denver compensation range: $42,150 - $59,410 annually
