Job summary

University Housing - The University of Georgia in Athens, GA is seeking a Trade Shop Apprentice to support the maintenance, repair, and improvement of campus facilities. You will work with HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanics, Electricians, Masons, Painters, and other trades professionals to gain hands-on experience and increase independence.

This role serves a busy 24/7 residential program with about 9,000 residents. Expect a regular M-F schedule 7:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EPA 608 certification within a year of starting.
• Ability to operate and use tools safely in skilled trades.

Responsibilities

• Install or repair thermostats, capacitors, fan motors, actuators, belts, and pumps.
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC and electrical equipment.
• Identify, complete, and plan facilities improvement projects with a team.
