Job summary

Thornburg Investment is seeking a Trade Operations Associate to provide trade desk support and settlements oversight, focusing on SMA-related operations. Typical work hours span from early morning through early afternoon, with occasional rotations for late-afternoon or early-evening coverage and cross-training needs.

The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and collaboration with brokers, custodians, and internal teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
Experience or working knowledge of trade operations, settlements, reconciliations, SMAs, or related investment operations functions.
Familiarity with securities markets, trade lifecycle activities, broker/custodian interactions, and standard settlement processes.

Responsibilities

Create new accounts within applicable systems, with emphasis on SMA setup.
Maintain account information within applicable systems, with emphasis on SMA updates and ongoing operational support.
Set up new brokers and maintain SSIs to support accurate trade processing and settlement.
Review and resolve unmatched and failed trades.
Provide daily trade optimizer and OMS support, including early checks, reconciliation, and new security setup.
