Job summary

C.R. England is seeking an experienced Trade Mechanic in Marietta, GA. The role offers a comprehensive shop environment with safety bonuses, boot/glasses reimbursement, and significant signing bonus opportunities.

The ideal candidate has diesel technician experience, tools, and strong customer service skills, with opportunities for career growth through C.R. England University and ongoing safety training.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of EGR/emissions control systems, foundation, air, and ABS brake systems, and DC electrical systems.
• Read and understand repair manuals and complete/fill tags and repair orders.
• Basic computer knowledge with good written communication skills.
• Experience with Freightliners or Detroit engines a plus.
• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Graduation from trade or technical school.
• Substantial diesel technician experience or heavy duty military mechanic experience with tanks, LAVs, or 5-ton vehicles can take the place of trade school.
• Must provide your own roll-a-round storage and hand-tools.

Responsibilities

• Peel decals and preparing units for the trade process.
• Body panel replacements (hoods, cab extenders, and tank covers).
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on tractor systems including diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, satellite/cellular systems, electrical, suspension, and tires.
• Utilize computer systems (TMT, TMW, and internet) to create, track, and complete work order repairs including tracking of time (labor hours) and parts used.
• Move equipment on and off the safety lane and around the yard.
• Perform safety protocols and maintain a safe work area per policy.
• Provide superior customer service to drivers.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and collaborate with teammates.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
