Midwest Technical Institute (MTI/DTC) is seeking an Online Medical Billing & Coding Instructor to deliver curriculum for adult learners, guiding them through theory and hands-on labs to achieve certifications and entry-level employment. The role emphasizes organization, public speaking, and empathy to support student success.

The instructor will prepare lessons, manage course content in Canvas, coordinate with program leaders, and mentor students throughout the program.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High levels of organization, planning, and time management.
• Public speaking abilities to facilitate classroom theory and hands-on lab sessions.
• Problem solving abilities and decision-making in team and individual settings.

Responsibilities

• Teach and train using established curricula; create lesson plans.
• Prepare for class with labs, materials, and visual aids; use simulations or guest speakers.
• Facilitate lectures and hands-on lab sessions; ensure student engagement.
• Utilize Canvas to manage course content, due dates, and assessments.
• Assess student understanding through exams, quizzes, and participation.
• Provide tutoring or make-up hours; prepare students for certification or licensing exams.
