Job summary

Campbell Soup Company is seeking a Trade Deduction Coordinator to provide financial administrative support for the Sales Organization, Finance and Marketing, focusing on trade and promotional spending, reporting and deductions. You will coordinate promotional activities and deductions against customer receivables in line with SOPs and provide general administrative support.

  • Handles SOPs including Customer Contracts, Proof of Performance, Customer Invoices in Doculynx & system.
  • Communicates and provides effective service to trade planning, trade systems support and marketing.
  • Maintains accurate deduction allocation to events within the trade tool.

Job Summary

The Trade Deduction Coordinator is responsible for providing financial administrative support for the Sales Organization, Finance and Marketing focused on trade and promotional spending, reporting and various other responsibilities. This includes coordinating promotional activities and deductions against customer receivables in accordance with Standards of Performance (SOP’s). Provide miscellaneous type of administrative support including reporting, payment processing, research, etc. This job covers Campbells Snacks Deduction and Customer Team Support.

Essential Job Duties
  • Develops and maintains a strong internal and external Customer Relationship to achieve deduction processing targets.
  • Develops and maintains customer manual related to key area of responsibility.
  • Performs deduction clearing responsibilities within established KPI targets and Standards of Performance (SOP’s).
  • SOP’s including Customer Contracts, Proof of Performance, Customer Invoices, etc. in Doculynx & system.
  • Communicates and provides effective service to connecting groups (trade planning, trade systems support and marketing departments).
  • Maintains accurate and timely deduction allocation to events within the trade tool.
  • Research and follows-up on all internal and external inquiries regarding trade and promotional discrepancies, etc.
  • Investigates and prepares documentation for DSD customer pricing and promotion deductions.
  • Submits branded deductions to Trade Promotion Management system (e4).
  • Obtains back up for Direct and DSD deductions via customer portals, deduction mailbox or from appropriate Account Managers where not previously provided.
  • Effectively passes departmental audits of documentation and processes.
  • Serves as a backup for other positions in the Customer Deduction Department as needed.
  • May perform other duties as required.
Scope of Responsibility

Work is done mostly independently by following practices and procedures with supervision based on predetermined thresholds and month-end review. High volume of transactions. Develops and maintains a strong working relationship both within the department and with Sales Organization.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required – email communicator that can quickly and professionally convey request/response.
  • Requires a “customer service” mentality.
  • Ability to communicate financial and technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to respond to frequent requests while maintaining business relationships.
  • High transaction volume and communications requires strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Able to manage deadlines while maintaining high level of accuracy.
  • Intermediate Excel skills required.
  • Should be self-starter with new software and technology.
  • Ability to read and interpret corporate process and procedures; good verbal communication skills; ability to respond to common inquiries and complaints; ability to speak effectively with co-workers, customers, and others within various level of the sales organization.
  • Ability to understand common business processes and solve practical problems; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished both in written and oral form; ability to exercise discretion while managing confidential information.
Education and Experience

Associate degree or a minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Education in finance/accounting preferred. SAP or Trade Promotion systems experience is a plus.

Physical Demands

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Work Environment Office environment: noise level is usually moderate.

Compensation and Benefits

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $38,900-$53,500. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
