Job description

Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00 am - 5:00 pm

We are seeking a Full-time Trade Compliance Specialist to play a key role in executing Fastenal's import/export compliance program and facilitating the efficient entry of goods from overseas. The successful candidate will work closely with our Overseas Logistics and Accounts Payable teams to identify products for import, ensure accurate classification of goods, and maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the role involves collaboration with global customs and logistics teams to achieve Fastenal's strategic compliance goals.

Responsibilities:

1. Work with U.S. Customs to clear Fastenal's imported products globally.
2. Assist in managing Fastenal's trade lane RFQ process.
3. Manage an audit program to review and address gaps in the import/export processes.
4. Review, audit, and approve bill payments for service providers and US customs.
5. Coordinate with Customs Officers to resolve specific entry issues.
6. Assist departments with Harmonized Tariff Code information for products.
7. Ensure regulatory compliance for all entries.
8. Communicate regulatory changes to relevant departments.

Required Position Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Customs Broker License through CBP.
• Possess or be working towards a degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or have relevant import/export/logistics experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic math skills.
• Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service-oriented.
• Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
• Strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in US, Puerto Rico, Guam).

Preferred Position Qualifications:

• Recognized trade compliance certifications (e.g., CCS, CCE, LCB).
• Prior experience working at Fastenal.
