Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to join our Legal Department. The role focuses on US government contracts across intelligence, space, cyber, defense, and civilian markets, with a primarily remote arrangement and occasional on-site requirements.

The candidate will lead ITAR/EAR/OFAC compliance research, export license processes, and Empowered Official duties, ensuring strict regulatory adherence and tracking export/import records for multiple programs.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of trade compliance experience in a government contractor setting.
• Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Requires working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and FTR to research, analyze, interpret and advise on compliance with U.S. international trade laws and regulations.
• Experience in preparing, submitting, and administering export license applications and related agreements; validate ITAR/EAR exemptions.
• Eligible to serve as an Empowered Official as defined by ITAR.
• Review international shipments, foreign travel/visits, ensuring license compliance.
• Review proposals/contracts/purchase orders and participate in technical programmatic discussions.
• Maintain export/import records per regulatory requirements and company policy.
• Other trade compliance-related duties as assigned.

• Experience is preferred in entering and managing export authorizations in Oracle’s GTM, DECCS, SNAP-R and CBP’s AES

Peraton is hiring for a Trade Compliance Manager to join our growing Trade Compliance team in our legal department. This position will support efforts pertaining to US government agencies across the intelligence, space, cyber, defense, and civilian markets. The role is primarily remote; however, occasional on-site work may be required. As such, candidates must reside in one of the following locations:

• Huntsville, AL

• Aurora, CO

Responsibilities:

• Requires working knowledge of the ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and FTR to be able to research, analyze, interpret and advise functional departments on compliance with U.S. international trade laws and regulations
• Experience in the preparation, submission, and administration of export license applications, Technical Assistance Agreements, Commerce licenses, and validate applicability of ITAR Exemptions and EAR Exceptions
• Eligible to serve as an Empowered Official as defined by the ITAR
• Review and approve international shipments (exports and imports), foreign travel, foreign visitors and provide guidance to ensure activities are in compliance with licenses and regulations
• Review proposals, contracts and/or purchase orders and participates in technical programmatic discussions/meetings for business area programs and technologies
• Maintain export and import records per U.S. Regulatory requirements and company policy
• Other trade compliance-related duties, as assigned
