Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience with trade accounting, commodity accounting, or derivative accounting.
• Strong knowledge of mark-to-market accounting, contracts, and hedging transactions.
• Agriculture, grain, energy, or commodities industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation abilities; advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting and reconciliation for commodity trades and related contracts.
• Handle mark-to-market accounting for open contracts and positions.
• Account for derivatives, hedging activities, and realized and unrealized gains and losses.
• Review trade activity and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
• Reconcile trading systems, contracts, inventory positions, and the general ledger.
• Assist with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Partner with trading, operations, risk management, and finance teams.
• Support hedge accounting documentation, internal controls, audits, and compliance requirements.
• Help improve accounting processes and systems as the organization continues to grow.
