Job summary

Houston, TX-based Trade Control Analyst (Commodities) is onsite four days a week during training, transitioning to hybrid with at least three days onsite. The role focuses on trade validation, reconciliation, amendments, regulatory reporting, and risk control within a fast-paced commodities desk.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of commodities experience.
  • Solid understanding of the trade lifecycle and trade control processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data reconciliation.
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and ownership.
  • Experience with an Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) system such as Endur/OpenLink preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform trade validation by reconciling trades and ensuring accurate booking within internal systems.
  • Process trade amendments to correct booking errors and maintain accurate trade records.
  • Investigate, escalate, and resolve trade breaks in partnership with Sales, Trading, and Operations teams.
  • Support regulatory reporting and management reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to process improvement, risk reduction, and control enhancement initiatives.
  • Monitor trade activity and ensure adherence to operational controls and procedures.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues while minimizing risk exposure.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests and support broader team priorities as needed.

Job Title: Trade Control Analyst (Commodities)

Location: Houston, TX 77046

Schedule: Onsite 4 days per week during training; hybrid schedule after training (minimum 3 days onsite per week); 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $33.64/hour (paid weekly)

Start Date: ASAP, pending onboarding completion

Duration: 12 months, with potential for extension or conversion to a full-time position

Overview

We are seeking a Trade Control Analyst to support its growing Global Commodities business across a diverse range of products and instruments. This desk-aligned role focuses on trade validation and reconciliation, trade amendments, regulatory reporting, risk and process improvement initiatives, and issue resolution. Full technical training will be provided.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, intellectually curious, eager to learn, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prior experience supporting commodities operations, settlements, trade control, or OTC derivatives is preferred.
