Job summary

WEL Companies, Inc. in De Pere, WI seeks a Full-Time Fleet Maintenance Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair trucks and related equipment. Read job orders, follow checklists, test-drive vehicles, and ensure safety and quality in every repair.

Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent, 1 year of fleet or dealership experience, and ASE/608 certifications preferred. Own tools are a plus; we offer benefits and growth within a family-oriented team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate degree in Diesel Mechanic or related field is preferred.
• At least 1 year of fleet or dealership experience is required.
• ASE Certification preferred; 608 Type 2 Certification preferred; CDL Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read job orders, observe vehicles in operation to resolve malfunction, and plan work procedures.
• Follow checklists ensuring all critical parts are examined.
• Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on trucks; adjust as needed.
• Test-drive vehicles to ensure they run smoothly.
• Adhere to safety requirements and documented procedures during repairs and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Read job orders, observe vehicles in operation to resolve malfunction, and plan work procedures.
• Follow checklists ensuring all critical parts are examined.
• Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks. Adjust as needed.
• Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly.
• Tag all warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk.
• Attend training classes and keep tabs on factory technical bulletins.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase their overall happiness.
• Properly complete the service and/or repairs assigned by supervisor.
• Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures. Participate in, and utilize to the best of one’s abilities, management-assigned technical training.
• Maintain your designated workspace in an organized and clean manner.
• Ensure guest vehicles are returned as clean as they were prior to being serviced.
• Show the utmost courtesy to all guests, visitors, and coworkers.
• Make every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management.
• Adhere to manufacturer’s policies and procedures as they relate to labor operations, time and repair order documentation when performing warranty repairs and torque specifications.
• Any other technician-related duties as outlined by the Service Supervisor and or management.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Education:
