U.S. Xpress in Springfield, OH is hiring a Technician, I Tractor to perform basic maintenance on tractors and minor repairs. You will follow PM guidelines, check fluids, tires, brakes, and greases, maintaining productivity and quality.

A valid driver’s license, own tools, and DOT/brake certifications are required. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a diesel technology diploma preferred, and 1 year of mechanical experience. Transportation industry and computer skills are a bonus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma in Diesel Technology preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of mechanical experience preferred.
• Diploma may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• Experience in transportation industry preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.
• DOT and Brake certifications required to perform PM and brake work.
• OEM Online certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors.
• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors per USX PM guidelines.
• Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring, etc.
• Check vehicle fluids (transmission oil, windshield wiper fluid, antifreeze, etc.).
• Change vehicle tires.
• Grease mechanical parts.
• Maintain high productivity and complete most jobs within or near SRT times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
