Job summary

U.S. Xpress is seeking a Fleet Tech 1 for its Springfield, OH location. The role involves basic preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers, with a Monday–Friday shift from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM.

This position is not remote and offers a comprehensive benefits package. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a Diesel Technology diploma is preferred. A minimum of one year of mechanical experience is desirable, along with a valid driver 's license and DOT

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma from a Diesel Technology Program preferred.
• 1 year of mechanical experience preferred.
• DOT and Brake certifications required to perform PMs and brake work.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers.
• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers as outlined in USX PM guidelines.
• Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring etc.
• Check vehicle fluids (transmission, oil, windshield wiper, antifreeze).
• Change vehicle tires.
• Grease mechanical parts.
• Maintain a high productivity level and complete most jobs within or close to SRT times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
