Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Tractor Mechanic in Indianapolis, IN for full-time work.

You will perform intermediate maintenance, service, and repair on tractors and related equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure work aligns with JB Hunt specifications. The role may require outdoor work, varied shifts including nights and weekends. Candidates should have 1–2 years of semi-tractor maintenance or equivalent experience, A/C certification, and experience with DOT and FHWA inspections,

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with 1–2 years of experience in semi-tractor maintenance and repair or military equivalent experience.
• A/C Certification and at least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes.
• Tools must be supplied by the employee in most locations; toolbox purchase program available in some locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate-level maintenance, service and repair of tractors and equipment to meet company specifications.
• Troubleshoot issues, complete maintenance work orders and follow standard repair times and warranty guidelines.
• Maintain safe working conditions and communicate with JB Hunt personnel and customers.
