Job summary

TRD Toyota Racing Development Company is seeking a skilled Engineer to join the Track Support Department. You will be the primary liaison between TRD race teams and engineering, optimizing engine performance while maintaining reliability across NASCAR Cup teams.

Expect extensive travel to NASCAR Cup events and tests. You will develop test plans, communicate technical updates, and provide on-site support from installation to dyno validation, leveraging EFI, data acquisition, and related software

Qualifications

• BS or greater in engineering.
• 2+ years race engine EFI tuning experience.
• 2+ years in a track support engineering role.
• 1 year engine systems development experience.
• Direct experience with EFI system hardware.
• Direct experience with at least one EFI system software.
• Direct experience in engine assembly.
• Direct experience in engine and chassis dyno operation.
• Experience with race shop operations relating to engine installation into chassis.
• Strong MS Office and VBA programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, operate, and maintain TRD-supplied race engines on Race Teams.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate Technical Support Bulletins to Race Team personnel.
• Provide onsite race shop support for engine installation and startup procedures.
• Validate and support new procedures and technical changes.
• Provide onsite chassis dynamometer support and engine sign-off.
• Develop test plans and optimize engine calibration during dyno sessions.
• Prepare post-session reports and test results for teams.
• Review engine and system data during on-track sessions and act on out-of-spec conditions.
• Generate post-event reports and share data with stakeholders.
