Job summary

New York City Transit is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor II, Track Instructor to provide classroom and field instruction on track safety, maintenance and procedures. The role requires experience in track systems and supervision, and reports to the Sr.

Director — Track, Infrastructure & Maintenance. Responsibilities include training delivery, evaluating trainees, updating materials, and coordinating with training units to ensure effective programs.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time-satisfactory experience with a major railroad or transit authority installing, maintaining, and repairing track.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Instruct employees on track safety rules, GOs, and right of way protection.
• Evaluate trainee performance and provide feedback.
• Conduct refresher and corrective training as required.
• Support safety initiatives, training and curriculum audits.
• Supervise and instruct hourly, supervisory and management staff in classroom and field locations.
• Create and maintain training aids and mockups.
• Collaborate with colleagues and department managers to coordinate and schedule training.
• Research industry best practices and incorporate new delivery methods.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance.
• Perform administrative tasks and other duties as required.
