PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Safely maintain the physical railway track within a specific territory in accordance with guidelines set forth by the FRA and CPKC.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Perform track maintenance and renewal work (working outdoors, in all weather conditions).
• Use hand tools and small machines, operate track renewal equipment.
• Stand, lift, and squat for long periods; ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
• Work typical schedule, Mon - Fri, 8-hour shifts.
• Travel as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Mechanical aptitude.
• Reliable transportation to and from work site, and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to perform physical work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations, and perform tasks accordingly.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School diploma or GED.
• CDL license or ability to obtain one (CPKC will assist with costs).

Medical Requirements:

CPKC prioritizes safety and health. This position is sensitive; all new hires must complete a pre-employment medical, including physical, vision, hearing, alcohol, and drug assessments. Qualification drug tests are also required.
