PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Safely maintain the physical railway track within a specific territory in accordance with guidelines set forth by the FRA and CPKC.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Track maintenance and renewal work (working outdoors, in all weather conditions)
  • Use of hand tools and small machines, operating track renewal equipment
  • Standing, lifting, squatting for long periods and the ability to lift 50lbs or greater
  • Ability to travel

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Reliable transportation to and from work site, and a valid driver's license
  • Ability to perform physically work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations, performing tasks in accordance with those rules
  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School diploma or GED
  • CDL license or ability to obtaining one (CPKC will help cover the associated costs)

Medical Requirements:

CPKC is committed to the safety and health of its employees and the general public. This position is asensitive position; all new hires will be required to complete a pre-employment medical that includes a physical, vision, hearing, alcohol, and drug audit assessments. Qualification drug test(s) are also required.

The successful candidate will need pass the following clearances:

  • Driver's License Verification
