At Pauley Construction, as a Laborer Telecom Underground III on our Telecom Underground team, you'll take on advanced responsibilities, including leading small teams and performing highly skilled tasks. Your expertise ensures the successful completion of complex projects while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. The Laborer will complete general labor duties related to telecommunications construction as directed by the Foreman/Supervisor. Duties may include all phases of underground construction including but not limited to: loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment.

What you'll do as a Laborer Telecom Underground III
  • Dig using hand shovel and mechanical tools
  • Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling
  • Climb in and out of equipment (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)
  • Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
  • Work in congested or remote areas
  • Maintain visual and audible contact with other crew members and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
  • Perform general construction work under direction of Foreman/Supervisor
  • Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies
  • Support with troubleshooting and operational tasks, working under supervision
  • Resolve routine issues and escalate complex problems
  • Support small workgroups to meet project goals on time and follow safety standards
  • Complete and verify detailed production reports
  • Assist with site restoration, including final grading and landscaping
  • Train and mentor Level I and II laborers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What you'll need
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma, GED, or relevant experience
  • 3 years of experience in underground telecommunications construction or related field
  • Valid State driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • CDL required
  • Pass background check and drug screening
  • Attend and pass all required training
  • Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, and travel as needed
  • Regular and timely attendance

  • Proficient in troubleshooting and operating utility trucks and hand tools safely

Pay Range

The hourly wage is $26.00 - $30.00, depending on experience.
