Job summary

High Point University seeks an Athletic Trainer to provide medical care and athletic training services to Track and Field student-athletes on campus. The role includes injury evaluation, treatment planning, rehab implementation and return-to-play decisions, with collaboration across coaches and medical staff.

As a preceptor in the accredited ATEP program, you will mentor students while maintaining professional standards and confidentiality in a dynamic university setting.

Qualifications

• BOC Certification required or eligible for licensure.
• NC Licensed athletic trainer or eligible; CPR/AED Certified.
• Knowledge of athletic injuries, treatment methods, rehabilitation, record keeping, taping and bracing.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care and athletic training services to Track and Field student athletes.
• Evaluate injuries, develop treatment and rehab programs, refer when needed and make return-to-play decisions.
• Serve as a preceptor in the ATEP program.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and effective communication with students, parents, faculty, coaches and physicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
