Job summary

High Point University is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide medical care and training services to rowing student-athletes. The role supports injury evaluation, treatment, rehab programs, and return-to-play decisions.

The candidate must be BOC certified, hold NC licensure or be eligible, and have CPR/AED certification, with strong communication and analytical skills. Experience with taping, bracing, record keeping, and software use is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• BOC Certification and NC license or eligibility.
• CPR/AED certification.
• Strong knowledge of athletic injuries and rehab.
• Experience in record keeping, taping and bracing.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Analytical problem solving and independent judgment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Efficient organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and use of injury-tracking software.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical care and athletic training services to High Point University student athletes.
• Evaluates injuries, develops rehab programs, refers as appropriate, and makes return-to-play decisions.
• Serves as a preceptor in ATEP.
• Maintains positive work atmosphere through effective communication with students, parents, faculty, coaches and physicians.
• Other duties as assigned.
