Job summary

Towson University is seeking an Athletic Trainer to coordinate health care and athletic training services for student‑athletes, maintain records, and collaborate with sports medicine physicians to ensure safe return to participation.

The role includes supervision of athletic training students, inventory and workflow management, and adherence to NCAA and Maryland regulations, with limited travel and hours around sports schedules.

Qualifications

• Board of Certification (BOC) required (Please list certification on your application)
• Eligible for Maryland Athletic Trainers License
• Under supervision, implements treatments and rehabilitation services
• Ability to evaluate medical condition of student-athletes during participation
• Ability to work with workload management and performance monitoring
• Ability to collaborate in data management for performance decisions

Responsibilities

• Coordinate healthcare for student-athletes in Track & Field and Cross Country
• Formulate and supervise rehabilitation plans and monitor progress
• Evaluate orthopedic/medical problems and assist in medical clearance
• Maintain and analyze medical records; generate end-of-year trends reports
• Communicate with multidisciplinary team and coordinate care plans and tests
• Assist with inventory management and facility administration
• Comply with NCAA, conference, state and university policies
• Support MSAT students as a preceptor when needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletic Training and senior staff
