Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and the Assistant Park Superintendent, this position performs complex (journey-level) building maintenance and construction work. Responsible for daily operation and maintenance of park facilities, grounds, equipment operations and visitor services for Enchanted Rock State Natural Area. Serves as the Back-Up Utility Plant Operator (BUPO) and assists in the operation, maintenance, and repairs to the Water Distribution System. Responsible for regulatory compliance in all utility operations and completion of required reports and laboratory testing as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). Operates all types of equipment such as trucks, tractors, mowers, and power tools. Assists in providing quality visitor services, enforcing park rules and regulations, directing traffic, search/rescue, performs resource management tasks and interprets the parks natural resources. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
- Graduation from High School or GED.
- Three years of facility, equipment, or grounds maintenance experience.
- Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid state driver's license.
- Must possess or be able to obtain, within one year of employment, class "D" Water and Wastewater licenses issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
NOTE: Retention of position contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required license and compliance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Qualitys (TCEQ) Criminal Conviction Guidelines.
- Thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required experience, with a maximum substitution of two years.

- Required to work 40 hours per week, including various schedules with hours other than 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and days off other than Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
- Required to respond to emergencies and on-call situations.
- Required to perform work outdoors, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
- Required to perform manual labor, including lifting supplies and materials up to 50 lbs.
- May be required to operate a state vehicle.
- Required to travel 5% with possible overnight stays.
- Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules, and safety procedures.
