Job summary

Swickard Toyota of Edmonds is seeking an experienced flat-rate technician to diagnose and repair Toyota vehicles. The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to manufacturer procedures, and high-quality service in a busy Seattle-area shop.

We value technicians with Toyota experience or strong skills on other import/domestic platforms, ASE certifications, and a clean driving record. Modern facility, training, and career growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of flat-rate technician experience in a franchised dealership.
• Toyota brand experience preferred; strong skills from other import/domestic brands are welcome.
• Strong diagnostic foundation for multi-system problems.
• Toyota Techstream experience preferred.
• ASE certifications a strong plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Physically capable of performing the demands of the role.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Toyota vehicles across engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, suspension, HVAC and beyond using OEM procedures.
• Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans with service advisors.
• Execute repairs to Toyota factory specifications with speed, accuracy, and no shortcuts.
• Complete repair orders documenting work performed and parts used with precision.
• Stay current on Toyota service bulletins, software updates, and procedures.
• Perform test drives to validate diagnostics and repair quality before vehicle return.
• Maintain a clean, safe workstation throughout every shift.
• Contribute to a shop culture of quality, accountability, and craftsmanship.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Diagnose and repair Toyota vehicles across a full range of systems -- engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, suspension, HVAC, and beyond -- using Toyota diagnostic platforms and OEM procedures
• Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans -- communicating findings clearly to service advisors to support guest authorization
• Execute repairs to Toyota factory specifications with speed, accuracy, and zero shortcuts
• Complete repair orders accurately -- documenting all work performed and parts used with precision
• Stay current on Toyota technical service bulletins, software updates, and manufacturer repair procedures
• Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality before vehicle return
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation throughout every shift
• Contribute to a shop culture where quality, accountability, and craftsmanship are the baseline

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 2+ years of flat-rate technician experience in a franchised dealership -- required
• Toyota brand experience preferred -- experienced technicians from Honda, Subaru, Nissan, Mazda, domestic brands, or other import backgrounds are encouraged to apply
• Strong diagnostic foundation -- able to work through multi-system problems accurately and efficiently
• Toyota Techstream or equivalent diagnostic platform experience preferred
• ASE certifications a strong plus -- Toyota factory certifications highly valued
• Low comeback rate and a quality standard that doesn't require managing
• Physically capable of performing the demands of the role throughout the shift
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
