Job summary

Gresham Toyota in the Portland metro area is hiring an experienced automotive technician for a flat-rate role. With 3+ years of mechanical experience and a solid diagnostic foundation, you will work on Toyota vehicles across engines, transmissions, brakes, and more, using Techstream and OEM procedures.

Dealership experience preferred; Toyota/Japanese-brand familiarity a plus. We offer paid factory training, progression, comprehensive benefits, and a clear path to senior tech or management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive technician experience.
• Dealership experience strongly preferred.
• Toyota/Japanese brand experience is a strong plus.
• ASE certifications preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Familiarity with dealership RO processes and DMS documentation.
• Strong diagnostic foundation with first-time repair focus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Toyota vehicles across systems using Techstream and OEM procedures.
• Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans for service advisors.
• Execute repairs to Toyota OEM specifications with speed and quality.
• Document findings and completed work on repair orders.
• Stay current on service bulletins, software updates, and manufacturer procedures.
• Conduct test drives to validate diagnoses and repair quality.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Diagnose and repair Toyota vehicles across a full range of systems -- engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical, HVAC, and beyond -- using Toyota Techstream and OEM diagnostic procedures
• Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans -- communicating findings clearly to service advisors so guests receive complete, honest recommendations
• Execute repairs to Toyota OEM specifications with speed, accuracy, and consistent quality
• Document all diagnostic findings and completed work accurately on repair orders
• Stay current on Toyota technical service bulletins, software updates, and manufacturer repair procedures
• Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality before vehicle return

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3+ years of automotive technician or mechanic experience -- required
• Dealership technician experience strongly preferred -- familiarity with dealership RO processes, DMS documentation standards, and warranty repair procedures is a meaningful advantage
• Toyota or Japanese brand experience a strong plus -- Techstream familiarity and Toyota factory certifications reflected in rate
• ASE certifications preferred -- candidates actively pursuing certification encouraged to apply
• Strong diagnostic foundation with a track record of accurate first-time repairs and a low comeback rate
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
