Job summary

Swickard Auto Group's Gresham Toyota is seeking an entry-level Detail Technician for its high-volume Portland-area store. You’ll detail interiors and exteriors, prep vehicles for delivery, and ensure service cars return guest-ready.

The role emphasizes speed, accuracy, and consistent quality at a flat rate. No prior detailing experience is required—we train you on our process, products, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of detailing experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Comfortable standing and using hands throughout the shift.
• Flat-rate detailing rewards efficiency and quality.
• Auto body or car wash background is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough interior and exterior detail work on vehicles.
• Prepare new vehicle deliveries, spotless and presentation-ready.
• Recondition pre-owned and trade-in vehicles to frontline-ready condition.
• Post-service vehicle cleaning as directed.
• Move vehicles safely between the detail bay, service lane, and lot.
• Document completed work and flag any paint, interior, or body damage.

Gresham Toyota is a high-volume store serving a loyal ownership community on Portland's east side. Every vehicle that comes through this store -- new, pre-owned, or returning from service -- gets detailed before it goes back to a guest. The Detail Technician is the last set of hands on that vehicle before the guest sees it, and that standard matters. No prior detailing experience required -- we'll train you on our process and our products from day one.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Perform thorough interior and exterior detail work on new, pre-owned, and service vehicles -- washing, vacuuming, shampooing, polishing, and protecting surfaces to a consistent, guest-ready standard
• Prepare new vehicle deliveries -- ensuring every vehicle is spotless, correctly staged, and presentation-ready before it reaches the guest
• Recondition pre-owned and trade-in vehicles -- bringing interiors and exteriors to frontline-ready condition efficiently and accurately
• Perform post-service vehicle cleaning as directed -- returning service guests' vehicles clean and presentable
• Move vehicles safely between the detail bay, service lane, and lot as needed
• Document completed work accurately and flag any paint, interior, or body damage discovered during the detail process

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 2+ years of detailing experience preferred -- candidates with comparable experience from auto body, car wash, recon, or other hands-on vehicle care backgrounds are encouraged to apply
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record -- required
• Comfortable being on your feet and working with your hands throughout your shift
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated -- flat-rate detail rewards technicians who work efficiently and consistently without needing to be managed step by step
• Reliable and punctual -- the detail bay is a critical part of the store's daily operation and the team depends on you
• Prior detailing, auto body, or car wash experience a plus -- not required
