Job summary

Toyota North America in Plano, TX seeks a Residual Value Manager within the Risk organization to lead price setting, analytics, and strategic projects across Toyota and Lexus brands.

You will analyze market trends, guide product content and pricing, and partner with cross-functional teams to optimize residual value, profitability, and budget delivery while communicating complex issues to leadership. A strong analytics background and 5+ years in finance or automotive analytics are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Economics or math-related field.
  • 5+ years in finance/analytics with automotive industry exposure preferred.
  • Proven experience with SQL, Python, Tableau and advanced Excel/PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Lead setting of residual values for new lease originations using market data and lifecycle insights.
  • Provide editorial assessment of vehicles and market conditions; identify trends and drivers.
  • Collaborate with Product, Pricing, and Incentives to optimize value and profitability.
  • Design and manage improvements to residual value processes and reporting with cross-functional teams.
  • Consult across the enterprise on strategic residual value initiatives.
  • Communicate complex technical issues clearly to leadership; manage budget and team resources.

This position is based at the Toyota Headquarters in Plano, TX with onsite work Monday‑Thursday and remote work on Fridays.

Who We’re Looking For

The Toyota Financial Services Risk is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Toyota and Lexus Residual Value Manager; someone who shares our team’s passion for cars, data, creative problem solving and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Residual Value Risk National Manager, the person in this role will lead strategic and highly complex risk programs that drive substantive business change impacting TFS, Toyota, our dealers and ultimately our customers.

What you’ll be doing
  • Managing the setting of Residual Values for new Toyota and Lexus lease originations through in-depth analysis of current and historical market actuals, vehicle content & lifecycle, competitive landscape, pricing, incentive spending, macro-economic factors and more.
  • Owning editorial and qualitative assessment of Toyota and Lexus vehicles and market conditions. Identifying trends, drivers, correlations, and explanations of residual/resale value performance and providing insightful perspective to diverse audiences (Executive, Field, Non-Technical, Auditors, etc.).
  • Consulting with Product, Pricing, and Incentives teams at Toyota and Lexus divisions to make recommendations on product content, packaging, pricing, incentive spending, and other strategic initiatives to optimize residual value retention, profitability, and incentive costs for new vehicles.
  • Envisioning, designing, and managing strategic improvements to Residual Value setting and reporting processes, enhancing value, accuracy, repeatability, efficiency, and automation in partnership with the Risk Forecast and Data Science Teams.
  • Consulting with teams across the enterprise on ad-hoc strategic projects as a Residual Value subject matter expert.
  • Utilizing excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively understand and explain complicated technical issues to leadership.
  • Managing team budget, resources/prioritization, target/goal achievement, and recruiting/retaining/developing department team members.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience (in similar field and/or industry)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Statistics, Economics, or other math-related degree required
  • Expertise and insight on US auto market sales, products, vehicles, and trends across OEMs and/or a passion for the industry and its products
  • Demonstrated experience with analysis tools (SQL, Python, Tableau, and/or similar) and a high level of proficiency with both Excel and PowerPoint. (Testing of coding and analytic abilities will be conducted as part of the application process)
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to quickly identify discrepancies in large, complex data sets, reports, and presentations.
  • Working knowledge of statistics and modeling techniques with experience identifying trends and indicators through quantitative/qualitative analysis
Added bonus if you have
  • MBA or Master’s degree in an analytical field
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience (in similar field and/or industry)
  • Proven experience leading large-scale analytics projects
  • Previous experience in a role with significant exposure/interaction with residual values at an automotive OEM, captive finance company, or auto industry consulting firm. Example areas: Residual Setting, Financial Products, Product Planning, Pricing, Incentives, etc.
