Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our RTP, NC facility, working Tuesday–Saturday 10:00pm-6:30am. You will determine specimen acceptability, perform procedures, troubleshoot instruments, and report results to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requires a science degree and MLS option or lab experience, with LIS familiarity. Labcorp offers a supportive, high-volume lab environment with opportunities for growth and development, and emphasizes equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
