Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join the Burlington, NC team. You will perform routine and complex lab procedures, monitor instruments, and ensure accuracy of test results in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum qualifications include a science degree and 1 year of lab experience or an MLS degree; ASCP/AMT certification is preferred. Flexibility to work overtime and shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
