Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our team in RTP, NC. The role includes determining specimen acceptability, performing routine and complex tests, and maintaining instrumentation.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science or an MLS, with 1+ years of clinical lab testing experience or MLS certification. ASCP/AMT is preferred. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k), PTO, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification as a preferred qualification.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
• Assist with processing of specimens when required.
• Maintain a safe work environment and proper PPE.
