Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Toxic Tort Associate Attorney to join its asbestos practice group. The role is available at multiple California office locations, including Irvine, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Walnut Creek. The ideal candidate will have experience in toxic tort, complex litigation, and environmental liability, and will handle a diverse caseload in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Location: Various California offices including Irvine, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Walnut Creek.

Duties:

1. Handle local and national accounts throughout California.
2. Manage a litigation caseload independently, overseeing all stages of case preparation and management.
3. Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for depositions and trial.
4. Review, analyze, and respond to discovery requests and pleadings.
5. Prepare court filings and ensure proper service to counsel, including experience with e-filing.
6. Provide trial preparation and support.
7. Maintain accurate time records for billing purposes.

Requirements:

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in complex litigation, toxic tort liability, or environmental liability.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Must be admitted to practice in California.
• Experience with motion practice and leading plaintiff and expert depositions.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and think critically.
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the California State Bar.
