Paycom is seeking a non-exempt Dietary Aide to assist in a healthcare facility in Houston, Texas. You will help set up dining areas, prepare meals under supervision, and deliver trays to resident rooms according to dietary instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Set up dining areas with cleanliness and order.
  • Prepare meals under supervision of dietary manager and cook.
  • Deliver meals and trays to designated rooms at scheduled times.
  • Clear dining areas and remove trash and dishes.
  • Maintain sanitation of food prep and dining areas in line with health regulations.
  • Stock ingredients and monitor inventory as directed.
  • Communicate with residents, visitors, staff, and supervisors.
  • Attend departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
  • Report concerns to appropriate department head and ensure safety.

Classification and PayHourly Non-ExemptReports toDietary ManagerSummary/ObjectiveIn keeping with our organization’s goals, this position is responsible for setting up dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order and delivering trays at designated times to the correct rooms. Duties must be performed in accordance with food health and safety procedures as well as the facility’s policies and procedures.Job DutiesSet up dining areas with attention to cleanliness and orderPrepare meals under the direction of dietary manager and cookDeliver dishes and trays at designated times and roomsTake down dining areas and collect plates, glasses, dishes, trash, etc.Discard leftovers and take out garbageClean food preparation areas, kitchen, dishes, and equipmentClean other others of facility as directedStock ingredients and monitor, food, beverage, and equipment/supplies inventory as directedEnsure that food is provided to residents consistent with orders or diet instructionsCommunicate and interact effectively with residents, visitors, families, staff, and supervisorsAttend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directedReport all resident, staff, or other concerns to the appropriate department headReport all incidents, accidents, unsafe situations, and concerns immediatelyMaintain knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations relating to responsibilitiesEnsure that responsibilities are performed consistent with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations as well as facility policies and proceduresSupervisory ResponsibilityThere are no supervisory responsibilities for this position. However, the position requires communication with nursing home staff to ensure that specific policies, procedures, and systems are implemented correctly.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis position is within a healthcare facility that operates every day. There will be scheduled times of work on the weekends and holidays. Significant events can occur at any given time that require working. Ongoing direction and support may be necessary if systems are not properly implemented, continuously improved, and monitored.Work Environment and Physical DemandsThis position generally will require physical activity. It may at times require walking to various locations within a facility. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and may require some use of machinery consistent with the job duties.While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
