Job summary

The Town of Hingham is hiring an experienced Town Engineer to lead major infrastructure projects, overseeing planning, design review, construction administration, and contract compliance within the DPW. Requirements include a Professional Engineer license, a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, and 5–7 years of municipal civil engineering experience; a Master's degree is preferred.

Some after-hours work and coordination with state agencies may be required.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer license required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's preferred.
• 5–7 years of full-time planning and civil engineering experience on public works projects.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and manage major Town infrastructure projects.
• Review plans and designs; oversee construction and contract compliance.
• Monitor project budgets and coordinate with Town departments and external contractors.
• Work outside normal business hours to attend night meetings when required.
