The Town of Colchester seeks a full-time Town Engineer to lead engineering and construction management for wastewater, stormwater, streets and related public works projects. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

The role requires a Bachelor's in civil engineering and six years of progressive civil engineering/public works experience, plus a valid driver's license. Salary $102,000-$112,000 with a benefits package; DOE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering; six years of progressively responsible civil engineering and public works or utilities experience.
• Excellent technical skills, including MS Office Suite, GIS and other specialized software.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and provide engineering and construction management for public improvement projects, including wastewater collection, stormwater, public buildings, streets and bike/pedestrian paths.
• Develop capital projects through conceptual planning, public engagement, funding and project prioritization.
• Prepares RFQs and/or RFQs and related bid documents, reviews proposals for award recommendations and manages workflow and relationships with selected consultants and vendors.

Prepares RFPs and/or RFQs and related bid documents, reviews proposals for award recommendations and manages workflow and relationships with selected consultants and vendors. Responsibilities span project management, consultant oversight, permitting, and field decisions. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or a closely related field, and six years of progressively responsible civil engineering and public works or utilities experience, including public interaction and engagement. Excellent technical skills, including MS Office Suite, GIS and other specialized software. Valid driver's license required. Pay DOE with excellent benefits package.
