Job summary

Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Co., LLC is seeking a seasoned Top Hand for wireless tower work across the Northeast and Midwest. You’ll climb towers up to 300+ feet, assist foreman, read blueprints, and help supervise a small crew, with emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

Requires 3–4 years of hands-on construction or mechanical experience, ability to travel, pass drug screening, and HS diploma or GED. The role demands extended hours and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years as a Top Hand.
• Prior hands-on mechanical, construction, electrical, or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Ability to work at heights on rooftops, poles, or towers up to 300+ feet.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Northeast & Midwest US.
• Extended work hours including weekends.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of using hand tools, math, and measuring.
• Background and pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and practices.
• Perform modifications, repairs, and upgrades of wireless equipment and antennas at height.
• Assist Foreman and crew with tower construction activities.
• Supervise a crew of 2–5 climbers.
• Assist with installation, grounding, testing of underground and above-ground systems.
• Read customer blueprints and execute scope per specifications.
• Conduct pre/post work site audits and safety inspections.
• Maintain equipment and report progress to Foreman.
• Attend vendor/in-house trainings and certifications as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
