Job summary

Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Co., LLC is seeking an experienced Tower Technician to join our Michigan field team. The role focuses on safe climbing, rigging and installation of wireless equipment at heights, with leadership duties to mentor crew members.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years as a tower climber, hands-on construction or electrical background, and the ability to travel and work extended hours.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years experience as a tower climber.
• Prior hands-on mechanical, construction, electrical, or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Ability to work at heights on rooftops and towers up to 300 feet or taller.
• Must be able to travel and work extended hours, including weekends.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of hand tools, math and measuring.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and practices at all times.
• Ensure 100% tie-off, proper methods, rigging and daily JHAs.
• Safely modify, repair and upgrade wireless equipment and antennas at height.
• Assist with tower construction, install antennas and radios, mount hardware, install fiber, ground and test systems.
• Read customer blueprints and execute scope as specified.
• Identify materials and resources needed to complete the project.
• Train other team members as needed.
• Perform duties as assigned by Foreman.
