Job summary

Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Co., LLC in Michigan is seeking an experienced Tower Top Hand to join our field crew. You will climb to elevated heights, assist in tower construction, and ensure safety policies are followed.

The role requires 3-4 years of top hand experience, ability to travel across the Northeast and Midwest, and a high school diploma or GED. You must pass background and pre-employment drug screening and work extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years as a Top Hand.
• Hands-on mechanical, construction, or electrical experience preferred.
• Ability to work at heights up to 300 ft+ (rooftops, poles, towers).
• Willingness to travel across the Northeast and Midwest US.
• Background check and pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Thorough understanding and strict adherence to safety policies and practices.
• Safely complete modifications, repairs, and upgrades of wireless equipment and antennas at height.
• Assist Tower Foreman with supervision of a crew of 2-5 climbers.
• Perform daily job-site safety inspections on equipment prior to operation.
• Read customer blueprints/CDs and execute scope of work per customer specifications.
• Site upgrades and capacity expansion.
