Job summary

Pearce’s Generator Technicians service and repair commercial generators on cell phone towers in their region, with a focus on independence and willingness to travel.

DBE safety and quality are emphasized; the role involves lifting and long hours, with on-call duties and extensive fieldwork to ensure equipment reliability in telecom environments.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience with generator maintenance.
• Minimum of one year of intense work experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes.
• Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair of generators; knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
• Basic knowledge of FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining generators, diagnosing and repairing problems, installing and replacing components or entire systems, and performing additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment.
• Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure proper readiness, reading and following blueprints or other design specifications to install or repair.
• Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components, and test for proper operation.
• Be responsible for responding promptly to power/generator alarms; able to be on call 24/7 if necessary and respond promptly to calls and emails.
