Job summary

Battletown Materials LLC is seeking an experienced vessel operator to manage the towboat and crew, ensuring seaworthiness and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

You will maintain logs, post watch duties, conduct drills, and report incidents or cargo losses to the office. Preferred candidates have 3–5 years as a barge pilot or equivalent and technical training, with eligibility for background and drug screenings.

Qualifications

• Physical requirements to operate a motor vessel.
• Ability to climb ladders and work safely on decks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle lines and deck fittings.
• Ability to communicate with customers and vendors and use a telephone.

Responsibilities

• Operate and oversee vessel operations to ensure seaworthiness and compliance with laws.
• Maintain vessel log and post watch duties; supervise crew and manning levels.
• Conduct regular emergency drills and report accidents or injuries to office.
• Inspect barges and equipment; enforce safety policies and procedures.
