Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Tow Truck Driver I to operate tow trucks and a front-end loader on the auction lot and in other locations as needed. This role supports vehicle recovery, staging, and sale preparation, with emphasis on safety and effective communication with the Lot Operations team.

The position requires a high school diploma/GED, valid license, and 1–3 years of tow truck/frontend loader experience. Schedule includes Tue-Fri 7:30am–4:30pm and Sat 7:00am–4:00pm; overtime possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field.
• Alternative: degree/certification plus 3–7 years in a related field.
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
• Pre-hire Physical for DOT medical card.
• Completion of DOT Driver Qualification file.

Responsibilities

• Operate tow trucks and equipment to move vehicles across the lot.
• Safely load, secure, transport, and unload vehicles.
• Respond to vehicle recovery requests promptly.
• Support lot organization by staging vehicles for sale or pickup.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and report issues.
• Maintain logs of towed or moved vehicles.
• Follow safety regulations while operating equipment.
• Communicate with Lot Operations staff about vehicle status.
