Job summary

APAC Central Inc., a CRH Company, seeks a Dredge/Tow Boat Deck Hand to support river operations in Arkansas. You will assist with docking, rigging, and tows, while following USCG/MSHA safety guidelines and wearing required PPE.

You'll train under a River Foreperson, collaborating with deck and wheelhouse personnel to maintain equipment, ensure safe passages through locks, and meet production targets in an outdoor river environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Marine deck hand or water-based mining experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older and able to pass pre-employment checks.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willingness to travel and work nights/weekends when needed.
• Team-oriented and able to perform general labor with PPE compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage docking operations and secure lines.
• Inspect and maintain barges and rigging for safe tows.
• Promote workplace safety per USCG/MSHA guidelines.
• Assist with deck line handling, navigation, and locks passage.
• Communicate clearly with team via radio or signals.
• Maintain boat and barge; report issues promptly.
• Monitor daily production and report challenges.
• Display professionalism and reliable attendance.
• Be flexible to take on additional duties as needed.
• Collaborate with River Foreperson and crew daily.
